COUNTDOWN TO
AUGUST 28, 2017

What if you could
“get your brave on”
offer your story of courage with the world
and find yourself supported by others
sharing their stories, too?

We all have stories of courage.
But, with rare exception, we hide them. We judge ourselves and deem our stories unworthy. They’re either too small, too meaningless or prideful and vast.
So, instead of sharing, we keep them to ourselves. Tucked away for no one else to see. Problem is, when we bury our stories, we bury our souls. Doing this denies us the expression and connection that comes from sharing the moments that define our power. And, it denies others the gift of knowing they’re not alone, and the hope that something better is possible.
Every single story matters.
We are starting a movement
and it begins with YOU.
Imagine people just like you around the globe
each facing a fear, and then sharing it
to not only step in their courage but to inspire others to do the same.

The Day’s Founding Story
BY CHANTELLE ADAMS

In losing a dear friend to breast cancer and discovering that I was alive and breathing but I was not really living, I finally understood why I was playing small, staying safe and not living full-out… it was because of a nasty four- letter word: FEAR! In her honour, I wrote My Fear List and began saying YES to fear instead of hiding or running from it.
I started being courageous in the name of coming alive.
Now, when I decide to do something, I tend to go all in. So I started with one of my greatest fears— jumping out of a perfectly good airplane— but, here’s the thing: I knew the only way I would be able to lean into fear and actually jump was if I made it about something bigger than myself, something to believe in and strive for, which actually turned my fear into fuel.
I decided to fall 10,000 feet to raise $10,000 to build a school in Nicaragua.
And THAT why was exactly what I needed to get my brave on.

Left: Chantelle taking leap of courage and skydiving to raise $10,000 to build a school in Nicaragua.
Right: That very same school after being built! Chantelle and her family visiting the finished school.
Now, share your story.
I am inviting you to face one of your fears and share it with the world on August 28th during our global

When you say “Yes!” to your courage you will be making a big difference — not only in your life, but in the world.
Your story of courage will inspire others to find their courage, and imagine the ripple effect of courage around the world if we spread this movement and get people facing fears on every continent!
This isn’t about you being courageous alone,
this is about us
a global movement of Courage Crusaders

and sharing our stories.
You need it. I need it. And honestly, right now, the world needs courage more than ever.

Water to Thrive
We are also building wells and providing clean water to rural communities in Africa through Water to Thrive.
Now that’s turning COLLECTIVE COURAGE into GLOBAL POWER and IMPACT.
Use these big WHY’s to help you say “HECK YEAH!” to your FEAR!
We ALL have different fears and different ways to experience Courage.
Here are some courageous acts you could choose to do on the Day of Courage:
Do that thing you know you really want to do and will succeed at, but haven’t done yet. Start that business, post that blog post, ask for that raise, invite someone to work with you. Sign up for an improv class or start learning another language. This could help you overcome the fear of failing or not being good enough!
Do something you know you are not going to be good at, like ice skating, drumming, playing the piano in the park!
Face your fear of being judged. Sing karaoke, paint a work of art, build something, share your truth or speak up about a cause you care about. This could help you face your fear of what others will think.
What about finally buying a blank canvas and creating your masterpiece or your first ever painting to hang as a reminder that imperfect is perfect! Or perhaps you could get out your hammer and some wood to make something from scratch or maybe you want to write your own song and share it with the world. This will absolutely help you face the fear of not being seen as an artist or creative.
Face the fear of PAIN! Get an eyebrow wax (or other body part), get a tattoo or learn to rollerblade or water ski!
You could do the doozy and go skydiving or climb a mountain or go out on the ledge at the tallest building in your city or maybe even have lunch on one of those glass floors that are WAY up high. This will absolutely help you lean into the fear of heights.
